About Coach Prince
I grew up in the Seattle area where my dad put a basketball in my hands before I could walk and I instantly fell in love with the game. I began playing organized basketball at my local YMCA where I instantly became the top player in my age group and my love and appreciation for the game grew immensely. I went on to become a standout player at Bothell High School and continued my playing career at Walla Walla Community College where I lead the entire NWAC Conference in made three-pointers.
I began my coaching career in 2016 at the Mukilteo Boys and Girls Club as a volunteer. I took this position unexpectedly as the team my younger brother was planning to be a part of was in jeopardy of canceling their season due to a lack of coaches. I stepped up and volunteered to coach the team and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I fell in love with the competition within the game from a new perspective. It was such a fulfilling experience to be a part of a child’s physical and social development while watching them grow and compete through the game which has given me so many great memories, relationships, and life lessons. To see the kids I work with gain those same things and to be a part of that is more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.
In 2018, I earned an opportunity at Newport High School in Bellevue, WA as an Assistant Varsity Coach as well as the Head Coach of the C-team. This experience gave me a great opportunity to develop my coaching, communication, and leadership skills while also preparing my players for the next step in their High School basketball experience. My teams went on to have three consecutive winning seasons during my time with the program. Began
My training and player development career began in 2019. After a season of coaching High School basketball, I was seeing that many of our athletes lacked the fundamentals that they needed in order to reach their full potential. Myself, not blessed with elite athleticism it was necessary for me to develop a well-rounded skillset of shooting, footwork, and ball handling to go along with a high basketball IQ in order to be an effective player. I have been grateful to have many great coaches, trainers, teammates, and competitors throughout my time playing the game. I take what I’ve learned from those individuals to go along with my own knowledge and I apply that that to my training philosophy while working with the youth.
So let’s get better together. Let’s work hard. Let’s get In the Zone!
